Am I correct that we cannot yet root a locked Verizon HTC One M9?

Just wanna make sure my reading is correct. Is it true that there is no root method yet for the HTC One M9 from Verizon yet (unless I was lucky enough to receive an unlocked one)? Want to purchase one, but this answer may sway my decision.
