[5.0.2] [Lag/Heat/Battery - Problems] Need advise on how to get ZL smooth again

Hello together first my specs:

Model: Sony Xperia ZL C6503
Android 5.0.2
Build: 10.6.A.0.454
Kernel: 3.4.0-perf-g8fa3dae BuildUser@BuildHost #1 <- Vanilla Kernel I beliefe
Root: Yes with kingroot following this HowTo Link I now got SUperSU 2.46 installed
Bootloader: Locked - I didnt unlock it and I think the rooting didnt unlock it either
Apps: ~95

I have the following problems:

1. Ever since 4.4.4 my Sony ZL is somewhat laggy. With 4.4.2 I had a really smooth experience but since 4.4.4 its been a dirt road. I am happy that Sony still brings us the newest updates with Andorid 5.0.2 and soon 5.1 but I hate that my user experience drasticly decreased. Not only do games lag since Lolipop, now the UI interface is lagy and my browsers (Dolphin with Jetpack) lags. Its just a big **** up! Its not smooth anymore and it doesnt make fun to wait several seconds (3-5) before apps open or close. I have no longer any task killer, with my last it felt to decrase performance instead of increase.

2. I have a heat issue with the phone somtime it gets really hot really fast.

3. Battery doesn't hold a whole day anymore. Could be casue the phone is 2 years old already but sometimes I have really bad battery life. If I turn on GPS I can forget to use my phone cause battery dies within 3 hours and apps just collapse under the heat.
I have Stammina tunred on and @30% Low Battery kicks in. @15% Battery saver tunrs on.
Battery drops from 12% -> 0% and turns off phone. Sometimes I get to 8% and then 0%

I would like to fix those issues and I need your help and advise. Yesterday I was almost to the point where I threw my ZL out of the window but I decided to give it a last chance with some help of the XDA community. So for my phone you are the last chance otherwise I will throw it out.
My Problem: I dont really want to completly start fresh and install all apps and configure everything again. I have Titanium Backup insallted (but I dont really know how to use it). If I have to completly start fresh I will probably get a new device casue there I will have to do the same legwork anyway. Only if money is thight next month I will stay with the ZL and do it all over again.

So can you guys help me to fix my problems? My biggest problem is the lag issue. I can life with the allright battery life and the heat issue but the lag drives me insane.

Edit:
In the past I already tried to root my phone while I had 4.4.4 but at the time there was no root available yet and some tasks failed. Not sure if that had any impact.

Not much internal storage left after flashing a ROM.

I own a LG P880 16GB and decided to flash it with a custom ROM. The stock version was JB 4.1.2 for Europe. I've tried AOSP Lollipop 5.1.1 and later Euphoria-OS 1.1. I use custom recovery called ClockworkMod Recovery. I've also installed gapps from Nano Modular Package.

Before the flashing I wiped all data and caches in recovery. I've also explicitly wiped /system and /data.

And here is the question. Why a 200MB ROM takes up about 9GB on /data partition? My storage manager says that I only have 3.5GB space available. It used to be a lot more (around 12GB).

I suspect that it could be my old files from previous android installations but how did they survive the wiping? I can't access the files from my JB installation (though it seems they take up the space) but I can access some music and photos from AOSP even though I have Euphoria-OS now.

My second guess is that the Lolipop reserves some space for builtin apps but since I use a custom ROM they are not installed.

Hello to you all. Since I got a new device (LG G3) I thought it will be cool to write an in-depth guide about recovering a hard-bricked L7 II. Our guinea pig will be my P710. All devices have the same internals. I will write up when you need to do something different depending on your model. This will work for the people that flashed a P700 image and lost Emergency Mode. This will probably work in any hard-brick unless your eMMC failed or it is broken (physically).

The original tutorial for this unbrick was made available on 4pda (Thank you very much guys; Your names will be in the credits area). Also some of the files (most of them) are from 4pda (Thanks again).

This is not exactly the same tutorial. I changed some things and I made some things my own way.

This is not a beginner friendly task but I will write it very in-dept (still not step-by-step). Very low skills are required though: follow exact directions, read carefully and don't do stuff because you think it is good.

I am not responsible for any damage to your phone, if you get fired from your job because your alarm clock failed or you destroyed your device even further. YOU TAKE THIS ACTIONS AND IT IS YOUR OWN RISK. I CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF THIS ACTIONS. This tutorial includes parts that might be illegal in some states (like changing IMEI back to your device one). If you are in one of those states please skip this. 2. Opening the phone and exposing the motherboard

3. Getting the device into QDL Mode 9008 and flashing the MBR, EBR and the main bootloaders

4. Flashing the phone as a Hard Drive in QDL Mode 9006 (Raw MMC Access)

5. Flashing a Pre-Rooted Image and Restoring the default Emergency Mode, also Restoring original IMEI (if this is legal in your state)

6. Flashing your desired KDZ for your phone model.

A cooper wire (not very big in diameter that is very sharp at 1 end)

Temperature and memory ram

Hi guys! Recently bought a galaxy s6, and I see that the ram memory consumption is quite high, it remains only a 400/500 mb for use, it is normal? And when I play a game that needs a lot of processor, it reaches 72 temperature. It is normal?
I'm brasilian, my s6 My s6 has the bootloader g920idvu1a0e3 and this firmware is 5.0.2 official.

Yureka plus

Dear XDA Folks, I jsut managed to get my hands on the new Yureka plus and so far it has been great (from 10 hours of continuous usage). SInce the difference between the Yureka and the Yureka plus are teh Full HD screen and the differenent Camera sensor, I was wondering if the same rooting method for Yureka would work for Yureka plus as well. I dont see any reason why the same procedure should not work considering that the hardware is exactly the same and so is the ROM. Would be great if you folks could shed light on this..:D

someone pls tell me... im confused....and i really want to get back to stock since darklord rom is lagging and every now and then the phone will autommatically reboot and get stuck in the boot logo until i take off the battery pack and put it back in..

HDX 7" 4.5.3 Help

As the title says I've got a HDX 7" which is rooted at the moment. And I was looking at the HDX Nexus Rom but I'm not sure how to install it. Normally I'm ok with hacks and jailbreaking etc. But this sounds a little harder than that so any help would be greatly appreciated

[Question][Bug]HW decoder for HEVC on MKV videos

I am using HTC E8 and as snapdragon 801 supports HEVC playback on HW decoder, it is perfectly playable for mp4 videos. However, if the same video is encoded into a MKV format with all the encoding settings the same what so ever or just remuxed into a MKV, mx player just says HW decoder not supported, forced to use the sluggish SW decoder. Below are the media info for the videos to refer:

Instructions

( 1 ) Try to have the CM12S (YNG1TAS2I3) rom, I dont tried on nightly updates (update me on that)

( 2 ) Download the Rootfs and the Kernel Zips

( 3 ) Go to recovery (TWRP Recommened) and flash first the Rootfs (Take 30 Min) then the Kernel.

* Works with MultiRom if you dont want it on your Primary rom

( 4 ) Wipe Davlik & Chache then boot and wait about 3-5 minutes then you have working kali :)

huawei honor x4 issues

hey so last monday i went and bought the huawei honor 4x but ive had a few problems that i need solved.

model is: che2-L11
version number: che2-L11 V100R001C432B064

So my biggest problem is notifications, i use apps such as outlook,yahoo mail,mangarock and such, but whenever i get a mail it doesnt show up and im forced to have to go into the app and manually refresh it, same with mangarock which i use to read manga, it doesnt pop up in the notification bar whenever a new chapter has been released and i have to manually go and refresh.

now the second thing that bothers me alot is that the notification bar is all white, and thats a big problem when i use spotify as i cant see the play,next buttoms.
third is that whenever i go into mail/sms or simply search i get the change type function thing where i can chose between google,huawei swype and google talk, but no matter how many times ive chosen swype it keeps popin up everytime i type, is there a way to disable that function?

Softbricked AT&T Galaxy S5

I purchased a soft bricked sm-g900a phone off of Ebay with the idea of using Odin to reflash and recover the phone. Since the phone was purchased soft bricked I do not have a history on what firmware was running on the phone or what the previous owner flashed that may have caused the phone not to boot to the OS or into recovery. I am assuming the previous owner was on 5.0 and tried to downgrade and ran into problems.

Short description of the current state of the phone:
1. Phone will boot into Odin Mode and can be flashed using Odin.
2. Phone will start to boot to recovery but sticks at "Recovery Booting. . . ." and reboots after about 30 seconds
3. Phone boots to Samsung logo and reboots after about 30 seconds.

What works:
Using Odin I can flash the following without errors: After flashing the phone exhibits the behavior above.

Tried to use Kies to recover the phone. It goes through the process of recovering with 4.4.2 and crashes about the same place flashing wit Odin does.

I assume if I could get into recovery to do a factory wipe I would be able to get the phone to boot. I have read multiple forum posts and blogs on getting the bricked phone to work where most recommend flashing G900A_Downgrade_to_NCE.tar.md5 and then if you can't get into recovery to flash either G900A_OC4_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5 or G900A_OA1_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5 and then you should be able to get into recovery. This of course has not worked for me.

Does anyone have any idea how I might go about getting this phone to boot into recovery? Also is it possible to have the local AT&T store re flash 5.0 on the phone.

I know it is a risk buying soft bricked phones but I sure would not like to have an expensive paper weight.

Root, exFAT, SD Card, and Titanium Backup

I know some of the G4 variants are losing exFAT format capability on their SD card after rooting. It seems the LS991 does not have that problem - at least I had no issues with exFAT formatting after rooting. However, Titanium Backup would not write to the SD card. I had to run SDFix. The latest version of SDFix is for kitkat, but it worked on my phone (rooted, ZV5).

Nexus Player WiFi and Bluetooth Dead?

BACKSTORY: So I just got my Nexus Player about three days ago. I used stock for all of a day and had no issues. I decided I would try Lollirock v2.1. It loaded with no issues and I was able to get it working. I don't have an OTG adapter so I used ADB to configure the wireless and then found ADBControl to control the device through ADB. I got it working but found that it really didn't align with my desires. I also began having Bluetooth issues with the remote. The remote would randomly drop pairing.

I came home from work the other day and found that the box was not responding over wireless. I just reset power to it and, upon recovery, the wireless and Bluetooth were no longer responding (icons gone from status bar too). I decided this was some sort of Lollirock flakiness. I flashed the device to stock LMY47V. The device recovered and it was apparent that Bluetooth didn't work. I couldn't pair the remote and the device wasn't visible when I pressed the button on the bottom. I was able to pair the remote to my phone so this ruled out a remote issue.

I reflashed Lollirock so I had USB debugging by default and attempted to research in a root shell. I was unable to activate wireless. I saw a random suggestion that wireless issues could have been caused by the Use Network Time setting so I disabled that on Lollirock with no better results.

PROBLEM: Wireless doesn't work at all. In a shell, netcfg is not showing a wlan0. I can't seem to make progress because of this. I assume Bluetooth is trashed because of the same problem as with the wireless. I tried flashing an older stock package with no luck. It seems dead, Jim. Any suggestions?

LG hidden Settings menus

Just thought I would cross post here, but I found some hidden settings that I didn't see elsewhere, other than the Access Lock (AppOps)

I went through and tested a bunch of settings and these are what I came up with. This list isn't exhaustive though, as I left out the screen display mentioned in comments as it doesn't seem to work, and I also left out ones related to hardware and capacitive buttons we don't have.

Howdy.

I noticed there's a method for getting Access Lock (AppOps) without root by making a shortcut. (I used QuickShortcutMaker from Play Store, but you may be able to do it with an alternative launcher like Nova)

While I was doing that I fiddled with a few other things I found and I came out with two other hidden setting menus. Though not mind-blowing, I found one of them to be a little useful.

First one is under Settings -> One-Handed Operation. Seems that was available on the G3 but removed by LG for this model. I don't find it too useful as I use knock codes so the pin one doesn't matter, and the dialler option can be accessed in the dialler itself.

The second one, which I find a little more useful, is the Screenshot Settings. It's under Settings -> Screen capture area. When you access this menu you can decide if you want your screencaps to include the navigation buttons and status bar (default), or not. It's a lot nicer taking shots without those areas, so a pretty neat little feature.

strange bootloader/ boot-loop problem on g800f

Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini G800F (stock rom, no custom recovery, no root). From one day to another it stopped working and hangs in a boot
loop now. After displaying the samsung logo it shows green rows for a few seconds and restarts. It is possible to go into download
mode with home + volume down + power on, but not in recovery mode with home + volume up + power.

What I have tried:

reflashed stock ROM from sammobile.com with odin 3.10.6 without errors, problem still exists

reflashed stock ROM with odin flags "re-partition", "Nand Erase All" and corresponding PIT file without errors, problem still exists

flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0 but couldn't enter recovery mode

rooted the device with odin, same behaviour

adb could not find device

What I can exclude:

display is ok (no flickering or pixel rows in download mode)

battery is ok (works with other smartphones)

power button works properly (phone does not start while inserting battery)

I think the problem lies in the bootloader. Is it possible to re-flash the bootloader and if yes, how is it done?
Is there anything I can do or is the phone hard-bricked now?

Hey guys! I've been searching for a while, but couldn't find an awnser to my question... So I want to ask you and hopefuly solve my problem. So about the question.. I am new to this zooper widget and i have downloaded a couple of skin packs and my problem is that when I try to put an mp3 player widget it doesn't work at all... Neither the buttons work neither the song starts on the widget. So if you can please tell me what to do on the zooper widget and how to activate the mp3 widget. I will be very thankful. D850 Hard brick after TWRP and Security Error

Sorry for any mistakes I may make in this post, it is my first time posting on XDA and any constructive criticism is welcome. I recently rooted my D850 G3 and it worked beautifully. After doing this I decided to take it a step further and flash TWRP as a custom recovery. I was very careful to flash it for the D850 and make sure it was compatible with my software version. After a successful flash I made a full Nandroid backup before rebooting. Upon rebooting my G3 showed the LG logo and underneath said, Security Error, with no additional information. It repeated this after I had removed the battery and then went dark. After this point, my phone was not even registered on my PC COM ports and is truly a brick. If anyone has advice for this situation it would be greatly appreciated. List of things I have already tried: Fastboot, Traditional unbrick, Traditional unroot, Boot to recovery, Boot to download mode, Charging phone. None of these have worked so far.

7- type "fastboot oem unlock" select accept on ur device n this will remove ur all data n ur phone will b unlock
8- go to Google n find app "towelroot" n download the latest version (recomanded) free.

9-intall apk n open it n follow instructions.
10- download superSU from play store n install it by normal method
Congratulations ur device is now rooted

I have resently moved from samsung to htc and I was wondering if there is any way to have samsung like dusplay modes for htc. I mean if there is any custom kernel or rom that cound offer a bit display customizetion.
I do love the phone but I found the screen way to undersaturated and also with not as deep blacks. Any advice would be helpfull!!

Can I fix unfortunately com.Android.phone stopped working without reset

I have an Galaxy S6 on Verizon that I just bought a week ago. I rooted it and it's on 5.0.2. I started removing bloatware with titanium backup and everything was fine. 5 days after I did this I started to get the error " unfortunately com.Android.phone stopped working". It keeps popping up continuously and makes it hard to do anything on the phone. It happens even after a restart.

I tried clearing the cash in recovery mode. I tried going into settings, app manager, phone and clearing data and cache. I tried clearing contacts.

I am trying to avoid resetting the phone to factory since I just finish debloating it and I actually got the battery to last a full day where as when I first got the phone and it was stock, it had a horrible battery life. Is there anyway to solve this? I have looked all over the internet and only found the solutions above which don't work.

Problem with Xperia E4

One month ago I rooted my Xperia E2104 and everything was fine. But today while I was using it the screen froze so I turned it off but now I can't turn it on again. I tried to do something with Sony PC Companion but it doesn't recognize the device.

S5 boot and reboot problem !

Hello every one! I'm new in this site and i don't speak english very well, so please if i make mistakes, don't blame me :p
So, i will explain you what is my problem :
Two days ago, I played with my GALAXY S5 G900F (android 5.0 kitkat XEf) and my battery was 44% i think. But when it comes to 43%, it shuts down instantly and reboots, but it freezes on samsung logo. I couldn't boot it anymore. So what I do is pull out my battery during 10 minutes and retry. Fortunately, it boots normally. But it's just for 15 minutes when someone call me and the same problem reappears.
To try to fix it, i have already :
- Pull out and pull in battery many times
- Flash the ROM with stock rom (android 5.0 lollipop XEO)
- Try to install a custom rom : SIXPERIENCE, but it freezes on the installation
- Downgrade from lollipop to kitkat (BTU i think)
I don't know if is an hardware or software problem.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 has a weather widget that works great, however it has an unnecessary clock included in the widget, with no alternative that doesn't include the clock. Importantly, the stock weather widget has a refresh "button" on the bottom right of the widget, which allows the temperature to be updated without having to open the AccuWeather app (or the default stock rendition of it).

I have tried other weather widgets, such as Beautiful Widgets, HD Widgets, and AccuWeather App. However, none have the ability to refresh without opening the app. I saw http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1601134, but the apps mentioned have issues according to the latest reviews, perhaps because they are no longer being developed

Can someone suggest a weather widget that:

Allows refreshing of the temperature/weather by tapping somewhere on the widget

Takes no more than a 2x1 area

And is preferably free

Hi guys!
I've succefully ported CM11 to Galaxy S4 Value Edition (GT-I9515) though it's not fully stable - random reboots might happen.
I strongly recommend to perform a backup of your current rom before installation. After flashing ROM flash fix - otherwise sensors won't work.

Received this today out of the blue.

I got a pop up notification "UICC Unlock" that says my SIM is now unlocked. This happened while I was in the shower and playing music via Bluetooth. I haven't taken the zv5 update not have I attempted the just released root method. Is anyone able to explain this and what it means? Thank you.
